Product Review - L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X

Hi,

I have a huge problem with hair fall. I have tried many products to stop hair fall and regrow them back.  Few products show little result and some none at all. Recently Loreal launched its Anti Hair Fall range - Fall Repair 3X - with bandwagon. Numerous campaigns were designed around the product too.

Well as a blogger activity we have received the product sample for reviewing, I was happy to receive this product and thought that it might be my knight in shining armor and it just might save me from the endless agony of hair fall.

But wait, This product reminds me of something ....

This range is already present in US / UK markets by the name of Loreal Elvive Triple Resist Reinforcing Shampoo (http://www.lorealparisusa.com/en/products/hair/hair-care/shampoo-conditioner/advanced-haircare-triple-resist-reinforcing-shampoo-126-oz.aspx#description). And I have used it earlier when I was living there.
Loreal has Launched Elvive Triple Resist Reinforcing Shampoo is India but with a different name .. although they have kept every aspect same.. same packaging, same formulation, same claims etc.

Few facts about my hair and scalp :
  • Normal scalp but gets oily on second day of hair wash,
  • No dandruff or any other scalp related issue,
  • Hair in thin and wavy but roots tend to fall flat even without the use of conditioner,
  • Hairfall, Hairfall , Hairfall,
  • I live in area with hard water so product buildup is common issue with me,
  • Haven't used any oil or any other hair product while testing these.

What Loreal says about the shampoo :

What Loreal says about the conditioner :

Ingredients of shampoo :

Ingredients of conditioner :

Price of Shampoo : INR 135 for 200 mL, INR 69 for 75 mL

Price of Conditioner : INR 150 for 180 mL, INR 80 for 90 mL

Packaging : The packaging of this range is similar to the other similar products of Loreal. Loreal uses different colors for demarcation like this is a Black and hot pink colored range. The bottles are sturdy and the flip cap fits tightly with no product leakage.

L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X Anti Hair Fall Shampoo

Product :

Color, Consistency and Fragrance : It is a white colored shampoo. Loreal maintains the same viscosity in all its shampoos. The consistency is of a thick body lotion. Fragrance is even similar to the older hair products. Its very pleasant and is almost similar (its may be signature fragrance of their shampoos) to other shampoos.

Effectiveness : The product lathers well and cleans the hair nicely. I usually prefer using any hair shampoo twice. Scalp gets cleansed efficiently. It stays oil free for about a day but on second day hair starts falling flat. When hair is freshly washed, product imparts a pretty shine and smoothness. My hair is very thin and usually falls flat from roots, this shampoo gives a nice bounce for atleast a day when I use it without the conditioner.   I have used this shampoo for three weeks now, my scalp has no issues of dryness and/ or dandruff or dryness/oiliness because of the product. The fragrance stays for a long time. It has reduced my hairfall slightly but not to an extend that I can claim it is the best shampoo for hair fall.

Pros :

  • Cleanses scalp effectively,
  • Imparts shine and softness,
  • Reduces hairfall slightly,
  • Creates a decent volume (if I dont use conditioner)
  • Does not dries out the scalp,
  • Lovely Fragrance.

Cons :

  • Reduces hairfall SLIGHTLY .. I was expecting a miracle for my hair
  • I dont know what Restructuring and Strength Loreal is talking about in their claims.*
  • Scalp will gt oily next day.

*I have used this product earlier in UK ( the biggest package available which lasted me 4-5 months)

L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X Anti Hair Fall Conditioner :

Product :

Color, Consistency and Fragrance : It is a pearl white colored. Loreal maintains the same viscosity in all its conditioners as well. The consistency is of a thick body cream. Its fragrance is same as the shampoo.

Effectiveness : The product is very creamy and spreads very easily. It does not takes a lot of product for conditioning the hair because it is very thick and heavy. I usually prefer using any conditioner on the length of my hair rather taking it upto the roots ( this is the way if you dont want to make your roots oily). Leave the product for couple of minutes and then wash. Hair gets conditioned well and initially is soft to touch and shiny. By the day ends my hair starts falling flat and roots look greasy. I have tried reducing the quantity of product but i get same results every time. The fragrance stays for a long time. It has no specific result on  my hairfall.

Pros :
  • Imparts shine and softness,
  • Lovely Fragrance.
Cons :
  • Very thick in consistency,
  • Does not reduces hairfall,
  • Makes hair look greasy by day end,
  • Hair falls flat by day end,
  • If you live in hard water condition like me, product buildup might be an issue.
  • I dont know what Restructuring and Strength Loreal is talking about in their claims.
  • We aren't suppose to use conditioner in roots so why Loreal claims that it will nourish the hair root.
My Advice to Loreal as a consumer :

This time its more like a question .. Do you guys test your products for different water conditions? Your conditioners are too heavy, not everyone is blessed with thick and heavy hair.

Last Words:

Don't expect miracles ..  you can try the shampoo but the conditioner is nothing drool worthy.

Stay Beautiful :)
