Different ways of applying Foundation

There are many ways of applying foundation, You need not get very expensive brushes to do so. here i have included techniques of applying foundation. You just need to practice a little to master the art.

Fingers :

It is the easiest way to apply foundation. You just need to dot some foundation on to the face and blend it outwards from center of the face. The warmth of the fingers helps to melt the product and helps to blend it with skin.

Stippling brush:

Stippling brush gives a sheer coverage and airbrushed look. Just take some product on the brush and stipple it (patting) and buffing in small circular motions. It can cause a bit of exfoliation as it rubs the skin a lot, hence it is not good for dry skin.

Standard Foundation brush:

Pick the product on to the brush and apply with slanted downward strokes. These strokes can leave some streaks; just pat the brush on entire face which will smooth out those marks.

Flat head kabuki brush:

Pick the product onto the brush and apply it in small and big circular motions. It can cause exfoliation because of excessive rubbing of brush on the skin; it is not good for dry skin.  But it gives a very full coverage.

Big fluffy powder brush:
If you have very flawless skin you can use a fluffy powder brush, it gives a very sheer coverage and makes foundation feel like a tinted moisturize. It is even good to apply a powder foundation.

Damp sponge:

Just moisten the sponge wedge before use. Apply in downward strokes, pressing, patting and blending. It is good for applying foundation on a dry skin. You can take a very thick foundation and sheer it. And you can also buildup the coverage. It give a very pretty texture like been airbrushed.

Stay Beautiful :)
